Bulging, Degenerated And Herniated Discs

As you may know, the spinal discs are the material in between the vertebrae and they act as a cushion. Think of them as shock absorbers.

Because they are gelatinous (very soft, like Jello), they are prone to wear & tear and as such can wear down and degenerate. This degeneration leads to bulging and eventually to herniations.

As a result of this degeneration, you may experience low back, initially; and then as it progresses you may experience radiating pain down one of your legs. That radiating pain may be numbness, tingling, or sharp pain. Oftentimes the pain is debilitating.

The solution is not an easy one. It takes time to heal degenerated and herniated discs. It's just a fact.

Before we discuss the treatments available at Balanced Health Solutions, let's discuss the medical approach.

First of all, your medical doctor will likely want to put you on some type of anti-inflammatory medication. There are various side-effects associated with those medications, plus the fact that they oftentimes only act short-term.

If those don't work, then your MD will recommend a round of physical therapy. There you will do stretches and exercise. Maybe even some heat therapy. While this approach does work in some cases, it oftentimes only works short-term.

In cases of discs that are resistant to medications and physical therapy, your doctor will maybe try a few injections. Typically, only 3 rounds total. Very rarely does it work long-term; or at least that what my patients tell that have tried the injections.

Then, when all else fails...you're off to the orthopedic surgeon. If that the route you're headed, then please beware. Plan on spending a few weeks on bed rest afterward. Plan on spending some time in physical therapy. (Remember, if PT didn't work before your surgery, do you think it's going to work after your surgery)?

Dr. Medina's Treatment:

The treatment available at BHS is not a one-pronged approach. What that means is that you will get a multitude of treatments and therapies, all proven to work. We will not waste your time or money, as we only accept the patients that we truly believe we can help. (To determine if we can help, you go through a qualification process as everyone does not qualify for our unique care).

If you do qualify, you then progress to the next step...that being the Disc Healing Treatment. It includes the following:

  • Chiropractic adjustments (non-twisting, non-popping)
  • Neurological corrections
  • Specific nutritional therapy
  • Vibration therapy
  • Microcurrent therapy

As you can see, how we approach your disc issues is vastly different from anything you may have tried, and that is the reason we get results where other approaches have failed.

If you are reading this and you have had success with other approaches, then congratulations. Awesome! If not, then you are invited to contact for a Case Review...click here to learn more.
